At alt studio, we provide quality document translation and languages services that you can rely on to make well-considered personal and professional decisions.

Certified translation means that a document has been translated by a qualified professional translator, and a signed Certificate of Translation Assurance has been provided along with the translated document to confirm this.
Certified translations are often required for the submission of official documents for purposes such as academic, marriage or work. The translation agency or translator is required to declare that the translation provided is an accurate and true representation of the original document.

v. Regulatory Documents
Sometimes, you realised that you will need to submit a “notarised translation” to a relevant authority instead. Looking at the certified translation you have obtained, you start to wonder if this is sufficient enough.
In short, the answer is not yet.
Notarisation of documents is important for certifying documents as valid for use within a country. In Singapore, notarisation can only be done by a Notary Public.
In order to obtain a “notarised translation”, you will need to bring the original document, translated document, and Certificate of Translation Assurance to the Notary Public. The Notary Public may also request for the representative of the translation agency to be present to sign an affidavit.
If the notarised translation is to be used overseas, do note that it will also need to be authenticated by the Singapore Academy of Law and may be required to be further legalised by the foreign Embassy in Singapore and/or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Machine Translation Post Editing
Generally, Machine Translation refers to either of the following four types: Statistical Machine Translation (SMT), Rule-based Machine Translation (RBMT), Hybrid Machine Translation, and Neural Machine Translation.
In recent years, it is predicted that there will be an increasing reliance on Domain Adaptive Neural Machine Translation (NMT). What this means for the translation industry is that we will be (if not, are already) facing increasing requests for the editing of machine-translated documents.
With the substitution of human translators with machines, it is not uncommon to see documents with strange subjects, verbs and objects usage in sentence structures, rendering the entire text incomprehensible.
At alt studio, we provide two types of Machine Translation Post Editing (MTPE) services, based on content and purpose of content, clients’ expectations, target turnaround time and MT output quality.

TYPES OF TRANSLATIONS
All practitioners will agree that there can never be a best translation term or product. This is because translation is largely influenced by a consortium of factors including context, time period, audience and patrons. Therefore, translation is instead a negotiation process crafted by various influences and human factors.
We at alt studio always strive to touch base with clients, translators, proof-readers and editors to clarify and negotiate the best way to present the final product in an accurate and fit-for-purpose manner.

TRANSLATION/QUALITY CONTROL PROCESS
We are committed to source the right people for each project while strictly adhering to our Quality Control Process:
Everything starts with at the quotation stage, where our staff will analyse the original document, understand your aim for translation, target audience, tentative turnaround time, project instructions/specifications, and related administrative aspects.
Once you have accepted the quotation, we will arrange for translation to be carried out in accordance to the project specifications (if any).
The translator will provide the translated text for the revision/editing process where the target content will be verified against the source content for any errors or issues to be rectified.
The target content will be further reviewed (if required) as to pick out and apply required corrections to the translation. Once a final verification against the project specifications is completed, we will proceed for delivery.
Our staff will send the translation and invoice to you or any assigned staff.
Should there be any issues with the translation, please feel free to reach out to us.
